2020 Football Season Tickets

A Message to Football Season Ticket Holders from Tom Holmoe:

We want to thank you for your support and patience during these times of uncertainty and change as we’ve worked with the university administration, government officials and medical experts to develop a plan to best ensure a safe and healthy game-day experience at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Your loyal support has been—and will continue to be—critical to the success of the program.

A plan has been approved that will allow a limited number of fans to attend home football games in 2020. Details are being finalized as we transition from season tickets to an individual game-by-game ticket model for the upcoming home season.

Tickets for the BYU versus Troy game—scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26—will go on sale to current season ticket holders on Sept. 14th on BYUtickets.com. Distribution will be based on the athletic department’s priority point system and will be available on a limited basis. Additional distribution information will be provided as details are finalized.

With season tickets unavailable this fall, we could really use your financial help. We want to encourage and incentivize you to donate the money you invested for your 2020 season tickets to the athletic department or apply the money towards the purchase of 2021 season tickets. You can choose from the following options and sincerely hope that you will consider option one or two:

1. DONATE the money from your 2020 football season tickets to the BYU Athletic Department. As you can imagine, the loss of revenue from having limited seating available at LaVell Edwards Stadium is significant. By donating the money spent on your 2020 season tickets, you will help us overcome the financial challenges ahead, and create a competitive advantage in the future.

If you are a Cougar Club member and choose to donate your 2020 football season ticket payment, you will receive triple the amount paid as a credit toward your Club membership. You will also receive triple priority points as well as additional points for continuous years purchasing season tickets. See DONATION EXAMPLE below for details.

If you’re not a Cougar Club member at this time, now is the perfect time to make a donation! Please give strong consideration to joining the Club and take advantage of the benefits.

2. APPLY/ROLLOVER the money invested in 2020 towards the purchase of 2021 season tickets. The 2021 football season is one of the best home schedules in school history, with Arizona State, Utah, Virginia, Boise State, South Florida and Idaho State scheduled to play in LaVell Edwards Stadium.  If you choose this option, your 2020 ticket payment will be applied towards your 2021 season tickets and you will receive double priority points towards your Cougar Club level and overall priority standing. See ROLLOVER EXAMPLE below for details.

3. REFUND the money invested for 2020 season tickets. If you choose this option, we will refund your 2020 season ticket payment. With this option, you could also consider requesting a partial refund and donate the balance to BYU Athletics.

DONATION EXAMPLE

If you are a Cougar Club member and choose to donate the money from your 2020 season ticket purchase, here’s an example of how the triple credit and priority points would work:

You invested $12,000 for your tickets. In exchange for the $12,000 donation, you would receive a $36,000 credit toward your Cougar Club membership. In addition, you would receive 36,000 priority points to improve your standing in the Club.

ROLLOVER EXAMPLE

If you are a Cougar Club member and choose to apply/rollover your 2020 ticket purchase towards 2021 season tickets, here is an example of how the double credit and priority points would work:

You invested $700 for two tickets. In exchange for the $700 rollover, you would receive a $1,400 credit toward your Cougar Club membership. In addition, you would receive 1,400 priority points to improve your standing in the Club.

Also, any additional Cougar Club donation between now and December 31st will receive double Cougar Club priority points.

Please look for a follow up email that will contain a survey link for you to choose one of the three options.

If you have questions, please call the Cougar Club at 801-422-2583 for assistance. Again, thank you for your support of our 621 student-athletes at BYU!

Gratefully,

Tom Holmoe

Go Cougs!
